The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden celebrates spring with its 40th annual Dallas Blooms, running from February 22-April 13, 2025. This year’s theme, Outside the Ordinary, features the beauty of more than 500,000 blooming bulbs including 350,000 tulips, vibrant daffodils, hyacinths and cherry blossoms. Complementing this breathtaking display is the artistry of Seward Johnson, a world-renowned sculptor whose lifelike works have transformed public spaces around the globe.
“This year, we’re blending the Arboretum’s natural beauty with Johnson’s thought-provoking art to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our community. It’s a celebration of the extraordinary found in the ordinary moments of life.” — Dustin Miller, VP Programs & Learning at The Dallas Arboretum.

Dallas Blooms 2025: Outside the Ordinary unveils stunning floral displays and captivating sculptures by acclaimed artist, Seward Johnson

This year’s festival invites guests to go Outside the Ordinary with awe-inspiring sculptures by the late Seward Johnson, a celebrated American artist renowned for his life-size, hyper-realistic bronze figures that capture everyday people in familiar moments. His works are featured in prominent museums, public spaces, and exhibitions around the world.
Johnson’s five-decade career explored profound questions about humanity, delving into themes of identity, connection, and the shared experiences of daily life. His sculptures challenge viewers to reflect on the beauty and complexity found in the ordinary, making his work both accessible and thought-provoking. Among the featured works is Crossing Paths, the monumental aluminum sculpture leaving its home in New Jersey for the first time— and the largest aluminum sculpture ever hosted by the garden.
