Get Ready to Groove to the Sounds of Jazz this Labor Day weekend!

Riverfront Jazz Festival 

Downtown Dallas will be filled with music at the Riverfront Jazz Festival from August 30 to September 1. The Black Academy of Arts and Letters will host the Festival at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center over Labor Day Weekend.

The three-day music festival will feature performances in a diverse range of genres, including jazz, R&B, soul, blues, and neo-soul. Don’t worry about the Texas heat; all performances will be indoors. Food trucks will be located on Canton and Akard Streets, close to the performance venue.

Friday, August 30

The Festival will be jammin’ New Orleans style, so bring your decorative umbrellas and hankies for 2nd line party!

Saturday, August 31

The Arena Stage will be smokin’ hot with a special tribute to great jazz singers: Cab Calloway, Al Jarreau, Joe Williams, Al Hibbler, George Benson, Nat “King” Cole,  Billy Eckstine, Oscar Brown, Jr., Jon Hendricks, Jr., Louis Armstrong.

Sunday, September 1

The Festival will take place on three stages: 

On the Bruton Stage

  • Four Brothers on Bass: featuring AJ Brown, Walter Hamilton, TAJ, Braylon Lacy
  • Cassandra Wilson
  • Take 6
  • Ruben Studdard will perform with members of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

On the Arena Stage

A Tribute to 10 great women jazz singers: Billie Holiday, Abbey Lincoln, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn, Betty Carter, Carmen McRae, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughn, Nancy Wilson

The Riverfront Jazz Festival will also feature several local jazz performers. Some of the best and brightest young artists from Dallas/Fort Worth area schools and music programs will showcase their talents. General Admission Tickets to the Riverfront Jazz Festival are $49 –
The 3-Day Weekend Pass is  $99 – GENERAL PATRON  
General Admission seating, except on the Arena Floor.

Parking

There is no free parking in Downtown Dallas. However, there are several parking options near the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The ground-level parking garage is $15 per vehicle entry and meter lots are also available on Canton Street.
