Spring in Dallas has a start date. It’s February 21 is when Dallas Blooms, presented by Amegy Bank, opens at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and it runs through April 12, 2026.

More than 500,000 blooming bulbs planted across the Arboretum’s 66-acre property along White Rock Lake make this one of the most visually striking seasonal events in the country. Southern Living named it one of the best places to see spring blooms. Newsweek ranked the Dallas Arboretum among the top gardens in the nation for cherry blossoms.

For DFW residents and visitors, this is an event worth visiting more than once. New blooms emerge each week, so the garden looks different in late February than it does in late March. That makes it a natural fit for a family outing one weekend and a fun afternoon date the next. Here is a full breakdown of the signature events happening throughout the season.

Orchid Enchantment
February 21 – March 7, 2026

The season opens with a limited-time indoor exhibition showcasing rare and exotic orchids in a curated, climate-controlled setting. This one closes March 7, so it rewards visitors who come early in the season. A beautiful contrast to the outdoor displays just beginning to peak on the grounds.

The Garden Chef Series
February 21 – April 5, 2026

Every Friday and Saturday at 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm, local chefs take the stage for live culinary demonstrations featuring seasonal recipes built around fresh spring ingredients. It runs nearly the entire length of the festival, which means it’s easy to work into a weekend visit without extra planning. A genuinely enjoyable way to spend the morning outdoors.

Dallas College Cooks Culinary Demonstrations
February 23 – April 6, 2026, Mondays

Dallas College chefs and students lead live cooking demonstrations every Monday throughout the season, with a focus on technique, creativity, and approachable seasonal cooking. Included with garden admission. A low-key weekday option that pairs well with a walk through the grounds.

Creative Arts Series
February 24 – March 31, 2026

Live performances and creative showcases run throughout this multi-week program, set directly against the backdrop of the spring garden. The combination of blooms, open space, and live performance creates an afternoon that feels a world away from the office. Worth building a visit around.

Food and Wine Festival
March 26, 2026

This is the marquee culinary event of the Dallas Blooms season. Acclaimed chefs, winemakers, and culinary artists from across the metroplex gather for tastings, pairings, and immersive experiences set throughout the garden. It’s the kind of event that works well for clients, colleagues, or a night out with a partner. Tickets go fast, so plan accordingly.

Exclusive Chef’s Table Dining Experience
March 28–29, 2026

Part of the Arboretum’s Cultivate series, this two-night experience features artistic fruit and vegetable arrangements by local floral artists, live music, a vendor market, and chef demonstrations. It’s intimate, curated, and timed perfectly with peak bloom on the grounds. This is the kind of evening that’s hard to forget.

Hanami Nights: Celebrating the Cherry Blossoms
March 30 – April 2, 2026

Inspired by the Japanese tradition of cherry blossom viewing, Hanami Nights gives guests a rare opportunity to experience the garden after dark during peak bloom. Four nights only. The Dallas Arboretum’s cherry blossoms have earned national recognition, and seeing them at night is something entirely different from a daytime visit.
