Why Spend a Night At the Theater on a Weeknight?
The Broadway Dallas season moves fast, and shows can sell out quickly, especially for popular titles and weekend performances. Weeknight shows typically have lighter crowds, which means better ticket selections. You can build excitement mid-week, turning an ordinary evening into something memorable. And if you can swing a Friday show, you’ve essentially started your weekend early.
Getting There: Your Parking Guide
Music Hall at Fair Park Parking: For most Broadway Dallas performances at the Music Hall, parking is actually included in your ticket price. Enter through Gate 5 (at Robert B. Cullum and Grand Avenue) or Gate 6, where friendly parking attendants will direct you to available lots. Broadway Dallas provides tram service from the parking lots directly to the Music Hall entrance, which is especially helpful on chilly evenings or when you’re dressed to impress.
Valet parking is available in the circular drive for $35 and is open 2.5 hours before matinee performances and 1.5 to 2 hours before evening shows. This is your best option if you want to skip the walk and head straight inside.
For guests with accessibility needs, ADA parking is available in the upper lot adjacent to the Music Hall. Enter through Gate 5, turn left on 2nd Avenue, then right into the upper lot. These spaces are first-come, first-served.
Planning tip: Gate 4 (at 1st Avenue and Parry Avenue) is closed on performance days, so don’t let your GPS send you there. Stick to Gates 5 and 6.
Winspear Opera House Parking: The Winspear sits in the heart of the Dallas Arts District, with parking available directly beneath the venue. The Lexus Red Parking facility is the closest option, with an entrance on Jack Evans Street on the north end. You can purchase parking in advance at a discounted rate (up to two hours before the show) or pay at the gate with cash or card. Self-parking is $17, and valet parking is $27 (Lexus owners receive complimentary self-parking or $10 valet).
The Lexus Silver Parking facility, located beneath Moody Performance Hall directly across from the Wyly Theatre, offers another convenient option with underground tunnel access.
Additional parking is available at One Arts Plaza (just off Wade Street near Routh Street) and the Hall Arts Garage, both within easy walking distance of the Winspear. Street parking on metered spots is also available around the Arts District, though availability varies.
If you prefer not to drive, the Winspear is easily accessible via DART rail. Take the Blue, Green, Orange, or Red line to Pearl Street Station, then it’s a short three-block walk north and one block east.
