Free Community Event at the Dallas Museum of Art: Afro-Atlantic Histories

The Dallas Museum of Art is hosting a Free Community Day event called Afro-Atlantic Histories, which will be presented by Arthur Primas this weekend. The event is scheduled for Sunday, January 14, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Admission to the DMA's special exhibition, Afro-Atlantic Histories, will be FREE for all visitors on Sunday, January 14. So, bring your family and friends to explore the diverse visual cultures that retell the many stories of the Afro-Atlantic. You can also explore all of the museum's exhibitions on this day.   You do not need to book tickets in advance. Visit the Guest Services Desk when you arrive. The Afro-Atlantic Histories exhibition is co-organized by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Museu de Arte de São Paulo, in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. The Iron Cowboy: The Other Dallas Cowboy

  Iron Cowboy Prepare to see some new cowboys at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington on March 1, 2014. The Iron Cowboy and The American will bring together some of the world's greatest cowboys and cowgirls. The Iron Cowboy V is the only bracket-style event on the BFTS featuring the PBR’s best 24 riders competing head-to-head for a total purse of $150,000. The winner will receive $50,000, and the opportunity to win an additional $1 million if he can ride the World Champion Bull contender in the bonus round. During this one-night only event the riders will be randomly matched against each other in a bracketed format. The rider with the highest score in each matchup advances to the next level. If neither rider in a matchup makes a qualified 8-second ride, the rider with the longest riding time will advance.
